Armazem da Cerveija

Armazem da Cerveija

As the name suggests this is a true warehouse of beers, with over 150 choices, half of them Portuguese. Pedro and Reuben have created one of the few places in the city where real beer lovers can hang out. The owners studied together in Holland and saw an opportunity in Porto to open a craft beer shop and since the opening in April 2017 all they have received is praise from their customers.

The heart of this beer sanctuary is the main fridge which keeps all the draft and bottled beer at 4 degrees. Pedro and Reuben’s engineering degree came in handy since they built it themselves; there is small window if you want to take a look. There is always 7 beers on tap, 6 change as soon as the barrel is over and one is the house pilsner which is kept as a secret.

I asked Pedro to put together a menu of Portuguese beers you should try if you visit and he suggested, Adamantia, vit smoked (Porto), Opo74 Red Moskito,Red ale (Porto), DoisCorvosMatine, session IPA (Lisbon) and 8a Colina Urraca Vendaval, IPA (Lisbon).

The house motto is to offer quality products in the way they should be served and I believe this beer warehouse does just that. They also serve some beer snacks but they actually incentivise their clients to bring their own food. If you want to go to a down to earth place that puts their customers and products ahead of everything else then look no further.
